How long it takes
A siding and windows exterior takes six to nine weeks, each trade in its own dated slot.

Exterior renovation is the coordinated replacement or upgrade of a house's outside surfaces and elements, such as siding, windows, entry doors, trim, soffit, gutters, porch or entry and paint, planned as one design and built in one sequence. ProBuild Remodeling performs it as a licensed contractor with one supervisor for every trade and one contract for the whole outside.
The service covers design and color selection, repairs to rotted framing and sheathing at unit prices, windows and doors, siding and trim, gutters, exterior lighting, and porch or entry work when included. It does not include roof replacement, driveways or landscaping unless added to the scope. Single elements, like siding alone, have their own pages.

Should I replace windows or siding first?
Windows first, or both at once. Windows need flashing that laps under the weather barrier, and that is only possible with the siding off. Replacing siding first and windows later means cutting new siding back open around every window.
Is it cheaper to do the whole exterior at once?
Usually 10 to 15 percent cheaper than doing the same work in separate projects, because scaffolding, setup, dumpsters and flashing tie-ins happen once. Colors and trim also match without guessing, and the house is disrupted only one time.
How long does an exterior renovation take?
A refresh takes three to five weeks, siding and windows six to nine, and a full makeover with a new porch ten to twelve. Each phase has a date in your contract, and weather days are listed separately so you can see the effect.

Can we stay in the house during the work?
Yes. Window swaps close each opening the same day, entries stay usable or get a temporary step, and the crew cleans up daily. Expect noise on weekdays and a dumpster in the driveway for most of the project.
